Architecture + Design Film Festival (April 14 – 18, 2021)

The Architecture + Design Film Festival (A+DFF) in Winnipeg presents critically acclaimed films focusing on the importance of architecture and design in everyday life. The films cover a range of design-oriented topics from architecture and urban design to graphics and product design. A+DFF (adff.ca) is the only Canadian festival devoted solely to architecture and design. Our “9.5 festival” is a little smaller this year and only online. Watch for the 10th annual celebrations in 2022.

Call for submissions: The Barry Lank $1,500 Memorial Award

The inaugural Barry Lank Memorial Award is presented by DOC Manitoba and the Winnipeg Film Group, in conjunction with the annual Gimme Some Truth Festival. The award is given to those who have shown exemplary work in the social awareness / social justice film genre as showcased in a particular documentary film. It is named in honour of Barry Lank csc, a Winnipeg-born film director and producer. The award recognizes a documentary that embodies Barry’s dedication to the craft and passion for storytelling.
