Saturday November 25 & Sunday November 26 | 11am – 6pm
The music video workshop will guide participants in the process of creating music videos from conception to completion. Taught by veteran filmmaker Jim Agapito, participants will learn how to collaborate and conceptualize with artists/bands, write treatments, shoot, direct and produce their music video projects. Jim will use professional examples of music videos he’s produced and directed as a guideline for the project. Day 2 will involve a practical shoot of a band in the Black Lodge
Day 1:
Students will go through Jim’s process of:
- Coming up with a concept
- Writing a treatment
- Assembling the proper crew for production and post production
- Working on a budget (both big and very small)
- Working with a cinematographer to achieve a look
- Waredrobe and location
- Creating storyboards or a timing sheet
- Talking to artists (and how to keep your artistic vision)
- What kind of coverage is necessary for shooting a performance
- Planning the shoot (scheduling)
- Planning for the production for day 2
Day 2:
Shooting a music video and implementing all the ideas for the next day.
Participants will be expected to work as crew and may appear in the music video shot on Day 2
