SOUND SERIES: PRODUCTION ELEMENTS

Roll Sound! With this workshop we’ll be exploring ins and outs of location audio. Participants will learn how to select the best microphone for the job, how to make the most of the acoustics on set and the art of holding a boom pole. Discover the secrets of recording crisp, clear dialogue and stunning sound effects!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR(S):

Michel Germain is a musician, audio artist and technician based in Winnipeg. His work ranges from improvised, electronic music and rock n’ roll performance to sound design for film, video and installation projects. Michel has exhibited at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, whereby he developed custom-built software to convert brain-wave delta into sound.

Andy Rudolph is obsessed with sound. His work spans nearly all facets of audio creation including: musical composition, performance, interactive installations, audio engineering, post-production and most points in between. He has performed and exhibited around the world, garnering impressive reviews. He also serves as Video Pool’s Education Coordinator and teaches a Digital Art class at Art City.

We’re located in the heart of Winnipeg's historic Exchange District in the Artspace building. We are across the street from Old Market Square at the corner of Arthur Street and Bannatyne - one block west of Main.
