Based on Gabrielle Roy’s 1970 short novel Windflower, (La Riviere Sans Repos) this beautiful poignant story follows a young Inuk woman who comes to terms with motherhood after being assaulted by an American soldier. Kuujjuaq, 1940s. Surprised at the loss of her innocence, a young Inuk Elsa draws courage from her rugged land to become a woman as strong and independent as the restless river that cuts across it.
