Preparing Your Film for Festivals

Instructor: Marcel Kreutzer, Monica Lowe, Cam Courchene

Once you have finished your film, it’s time to get your work into film festivals.  Winnipeg Film Group Staff, Monica Lowe, Marcel Kreutzer, and Cameron Courchene will go over what you need to do to get your piece festival ready to increase your chance of getting your film into festivals.

-Topics discussed will include:

-What film festivals are looking for in your completed film.

-Press kits and one-sheets.

-File formats, codecs, and compression rates.

-Digital Cinema Packages.

We will meet at Cinematheque so we can show samples of various file formats and compression rates and also see if there are any noticeable differences in the images.

We’re located in the heart of Winnipeg's historic Exchange District in the Artspace building. We are across the street from Old Market Square at the corner of Arthur Street and Bannatyne - one block west of Main.

The Winnipeg Film Group is located on Treaty 1 Territory and on the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene Peoples and in the homeland of the Métis Nation. We offer our respect and gratitude to the traditional caretakers of this land.
