Adobe After Effects has taken the film industry by storm. Now its your chance to learn a remarkable software that provides all the tools necessary to create mind blowing visual effects that will leave your audience stunned. This crash course on Adobe After Effects will be divided into two weeks of basic and advanced after effects tutorials.

“Create cinematic movie titles, intros, and transitions. Start a fire or make it rain. Animate a logo or character. With After Effects CC, the industry-standard animation and creative compositing app, you can take any idea and make it move.”

Once the workshop attendant has taken the course, they will be provided with free access to our editing suites for one week where they can continue to learn and hone the craft of Visual Effects!

In this intensive two week course you will learn/discuss:

– Green/Blue screen compositing

– 2D/3D Tracking

– Paintouts

– Rotoscoping

– Matte Paintings / Sky Replacements

– Compositing techniques

Also we will discuss the process of VFX starting from:

Preparation > On Set > Filming > VFX post > Output to Editor

About the instructor:

Andrew Degryse is an award winning VFX artist and Supervisor, specializing in compositing, matte painting, match moving, and general 3D. Andrew’s recent accomplishments include winning Best VFX for the short film Echoes in the Ice (2017) which premiered at the Dead North Film Festival. Echoes in the Ice also screened at the Cannes Film Festival short film program.  He has worked as a VFX Supervisor on numerous film sets, as well as, continued post vfx work on many films.

​In 2014, he had the opportunity to create a P.S.A. campaign for the Winnipeg Police where he wrote, directed and edited a 9 commercial run. Andrew has also created visually stunning video for the NHL, most notably, the Winnipeg Jets.

-The Winnipeg Film Group reserves the right to cancel any course where the minimum registration has not been met. Anyone registered for a course that has been cancelled is eligible for a full refund, Cancelled course fees may also be used towards any other Winnipeg Film Group training programs.

We’re located in the heart of Winnipeg's historic Exchange District in the Artspace building. We are across the street from Old Market Square at the corner of Arthur Street and Bannatyne - one block west of Main.
