The murder sent shockwaves through the jazz community, and the memory of the event still haunts those who knew the Morgans. This documentary by Swedish filmmaker Kasper Collin (My Name Is Albert Ayler) is a love letter to two unique personalities and the music that brought them together. Reviews

Kasper Collin's I Called Him Morgan isn't just the greatest jazz documentary since Let's Get Lost, it's a documentary-as-jazz. That’s Lee beside John Coltrane on the legendary 1957 album Blue Train. And that’s Lee as part of the Jazz Messengers, the super group led by drummer Art Blakey. Spellbinding, hallucinatory, exuberant, tragic.
