WRITERS’ SERIES: FROM SCRIPT TO SCREEN
In this screenwriting workshop, writer/director, Gary Burns will drop by the WFG to cover the process of going from idea to finished screenplay as well as some discussion around getting the script to the screen and the collaborative process of working with co-writers. Participants are encouraged to bring samples of their own work for discussion (participants who bring work should be prepared to provide a brief verbal description of their project).

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Gary Burns is a Calgary based writer and director. His feature films include, The Suburbanators, Kitchen Party, waydowntown, A Problem with Fear, and the feature documentaries Radiant City and The Future is Now! His urban comedy waydowntown won the City TV award for best Canadian feature film at the 2000 Toronto film festival. Radiant City, which he co-directed with Jim Brown, won the Genie for best documentary in 2006. Burn’s films are satirical in nature and revolve around themes on the modern urban/suburban milieu.
