FCP SERIES: DIGITAL EDITING 101

Instructor: Jaimz Asmundson

In this three day, lab style workshop, participants will learn the basics of editing including: setup and interface, logging and capturing video, editing tools, project workflow and aesthetics, and how to sync sound and image. Also, participants will be introduced the basics of media management, effects and transitions, and outputting final projects to tape, dvd, blu-ray and the web.

This lab will be delivered via video projector and participants will work at individual editing stations together as pairs. Participants are also encouraged to bring their laptops if they are running FCP version 6 or higher.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Jaimz Asmundson has produced a frenzy of work that has traveled to film festivals worldwide. Subversive content, camp humour and over-the-top aesthetic have become Asmundson’s hallmark. Jaimz has also contributed to many award-winning shorts, features, documentaries and tv productions as a picture editor, assistant editor and graphic designer.

Presented as a collaborative partnership between the Winnipeg Film Group and Video Pool Media Arts Centre.

We’re located in the heart of Winnipeg's historic Exchange District in the Artspace building. We are across the street from Old Market Square at the corner of Arthur Street and Bannatyne - one block west of Main.
