If your script can present a story, along with a well thought out main character who the audience can relate to then you will all ready have the jump on most scriptwriters.
This 3-hour evening workshop led by Royal Manitoba Theatre Company Producer Laurie Lam will provide a brief introduction to the world of independent filmmaking followed by a study of the scriptwriting process. Participants will learn about story development, the 3-act structure and proper formatting for scripts.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Instructor Laurie Lam earned an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, where she also worked as a story analyst. For over a decade, her Introduction to Screenwriting course has been helping writers, directors, editors and cinematographers learn time-honoured principles (and at least one insider secret) to help them craft compelling, meaningful films.
