Sat, Nov 26 / 9:15pm
Dir. Leif Jonker
1993, USA, 90 min

Drop Dead Tapes is our new VHS series exploring films of the video store era. Join us for a healthy injection of nostalgia straight from the fuzzy magnetic spools!

Features a virtual introduction by director Leif Jonker.

A small community is besieged by vampires. After he watches friends ravaged in a convenience store, a lone avenger goes off to do battle with the undead, armed with a shotgun, chainsaw, and Holy water. Later he finds other survivors and they try to stay alive long enough to do battle with Liven, king of the vampires.

Reviews

High energy gore! Bravado filmmaking! I wish I had the guts to make a movie like this!
- Don Coscarelli, director of Phantasm
...some of the most impressive gross-out special effects since the original Evil Dead! Check it out!
- Joe Bob Briggs
Leif Jonker’s vampire splatterfest is the fallout when Cannibal Corpse’s “Butchered at Birth,” Kathryn Bigelow’s Near Dark, and the impenetrable nihilism of puberty collide in an angst-strewn supernova.
- Justin Burning, Confluence of Cult
