Are you an up and coming filmmaker in Manitoba? Do you want to learn all the ins and outs of directing actors in order to produce a film with strong performances? Learn the art of directing actors in this two day hands on and lecture based workshop happening in the Winnipeg Film Group. Taught by renowned filmmaker and film professor Shereen Jerret, students will learn all the steps of making a scene work and how to make your actors comfortable in order to get the pacing, performances & blocking just right!
The first day of class will be a lecture based class that will show the students the ins and outs of directing. The students will learn about blocking, pacing, character study and more. The class will conclude with a short preparation for a scene they will be shooting in the second class.
The second day of class will be a hands on practical class that will get the students to put all of what they learned into an actual film shoot. Day 2 will incorporate two professional actors into the fold, and the students will then have a chance to direct an actual scene with the guidance of their instructor.
The finished scene will then be screened a few weeks later in the cinematheque.
