*Note: This in-person workshop is limited to 12 participants. While masks are no longer required to be worn in indoor public spaces in Manitoba, individuals are recommended to wear a mask in our Production Centre.
As a participant you will be provided with exercises and writing prompts to help you find your story’s premise, your main character’s back story, and create an outline or “beat” sheet for writing the first draft.
About the Instructor : Melva has been writing and teaching for several years. Her short script, Chopin’s Heart, dir. By BJ Berot, was screened at Cannes in 2014 as part of Telefilm Canada’s Not Short on Talent Showcase. One of her recent shorts, Richard the Third, dir. by George Orallo, has screened at several festivals and won the Award of Recognition at the L.A. Accolade Global Film Festival. Richard will screen at the Winnipeg Film Group on December 17th as part of the holiday celebration.

The Winnipeg Film Group reserves the right to cancel any course where the minimum registration has not been met. Anyone registered for a course that has been cancelled is eligible for a full refund, Cancelled course fees may also be used towards any other Winnipeg Film Group training programs.
