Directed by Nicole van Kilsdonk
2016, The Netherlands/Croatia/Belgium, 90 min

Toda’s father, a pastry chef, is called to fight when war breaks out in their country. So our young protagonist is sent to stay with her mother who lives in a neighbouring land – which isn’t a simple journey during wartimes! But Toda is a plucky girl and she doesn’t give up easily.

A very unique film, that makes one realize what would happen if a civil war came to disturb our quiet lives, right here, right now. This charming story is told from the young girl’s perspective and the actress playing Toda is simply amazing. A truly great script, directed with just the perfect touch for this fascinating story!

Freeze Frame invites you to check out their website for the rest of the films that will be playing during their international film festival running March 4 to 11.
