Come As You Are

Available to rent for $7.99
Held over until July 9!
Directed by Richard Wong
2019, USA, 106 min

This title is available to rent via Cinematheque at Home for $7.99. This is not only an opportunity for our patrons to see new cinema, but is an important way that they can continue to support independent film during this pandemic with 50% of all sales supporting our theatre.

Incredibly charming and “inspired by a true story – three young men with disabilities (Grant Rosenmeyer, Hayden Szeto, Ravi Patel) flee their overbearing parents for a road trip to a brothel in Montreal that caters to people with special needs, in order to lose their virginity and embrace their independence. Gabourey Sidibe stars as their nurse driver, Janeane Garofalo and C.S. Lee also star as concerned parents hot on their trail. A remake of the award winning, critically acclaimed 2011 Belgian film Hasta La Vista. (SXSW)

Reviews

Based on a true story getting one's cherry popped has never been more relatable, heartfelt and incredibly funny. Insanely refreshing. A Must see.
- Peppur Chambers, Black Girl Nerds
Immensely charming...Delightful.
- John Fink, The Film Stage
At once frank, tender and unapologetically funny, Come as You Are is a sweet surprise.
