CO-MOTION: SOLID GOLD STOP MOTION ANIMATION

CO-MOTION: SOLID GOLD STOP MOTION ANIMATION

JAN 5 & 6 / 12 - 5pm

Location: Video Pool
Registration Fee: 50 – 70
Instructor: Meghan Turnbull

Stop motion animation utilizes techniques to manipulate a motionless object into appearing to move on its own.

Join us for a workshop demonstrating the different methods and techniques used in this rich and inventive animation medium. The first half of the workshop will feature discussion on the technical aspects and limitations to animating in stop-motion. You will have hands on experience animating a scene, and character. We will touch on some of the available stop-motion animation software tools, and how they may be used.

The second portion of the workshop will cover the post-production involved, from file management, to creating a continuous sequence, editing shots together into a story and finally outputting your project.

Videos created during this workshop will be screened during the epic Gold Standard Art’s Birthday Party on January 17th!

Note: There will be cameras available for use at this workshop, but you may bring your own DSLR & tripod if you have one. Scenes & props will be provided, but if you have a specific story to be animated please feel free to bring the miniatures, puppets, or set you require.
