Directed by Carlos Sanchez & Jason Sanchez
2017, Canada, 105 min

A 30-year-old woman (Evan Rachel Wood) embarks on an intimate yet ultimately manipulative relationship with a 16-year-old runaway (former TIFF rising star Julia Sarah Stone) in the highly anticipated feature debut from Montreal-based photographers Carlos and Jason Sanchez.

Generously sponsored by IATSE 856 and the Toronto International Film Festival.

Now in its 17th year Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival™ highlights the best features, shorts and student shorts from across the country. The breadth of programming selected by filmmakers, programmers, critics and industry professionals represents the creative strength of the country’s best cinema.

Reviews

Writer/directors (and photographers) Carlos Sanchez and Jason Sanchez chose to throw out convention, using their feature debut as a vehicle to explain how easy boxes don’t exist for the devastation wrought by abusive relationships built on love. Allure seeks to get to the heart of how these tortured souls must impossibly reconcile love, hate, jealousy, and rage at once.
