Have you written a screenplay but know that it needs improvement? Would you like guidance as you revise your story structure and character development? Would you like to make your screenplay more compelling and more likely to attract talent?
This workshop will help you improve your writing through a series of targeted rewriting exercises. Participants must bring a completed (or mostly completed) first draft screenplay that they will revise throughout the class.
Participants will read each other’s work, share ideas and offer feedback.
Six evening classes over 3 months. (Two week break between each class.)

Mar 01 – Protagonist, Antagonist and Secondary Characters
Mar 15 – Openings
Mar 29 – Scene Work
Apr 12 – Visual Writing and Entertainment

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Danishka Esterhazy is a graduate of the Director’s Lab program at the Canadian Film Centre – the renowned film school founded by Norman Jewison. She has written and directed several short films including the National Screen Institute Drama Prize winner The Snow Queen. She was a participant in the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival Talent Lab and she was the 2008 winner of the Kodak New Vision award sponsored by Women in Film and Television. Danishka’s first feature film, Black Field, premiered October 2009 at the Vancouver International Film Festival and was released in theatres across Canada in summer 2010.http://www.danishkaesterhazy.com/
