In 1982, French President Mitterand declared that the old, notorious Bastille prison would be transformed into an ultra-modern opera for the people and awarded the project to Canadian architect, Carlos Ott. Building Bastille is a feature length documentary that tells the comic, dramatic and tangled story of modern history’s greatest case of mistaken identity and seized opportunity.

We’re located in the heart of Winnipeg's historic Exchange District in the Artspace building. We are across the street from Old Market Square at the corner of Arthur Street and Bannatyne - one block west of Main.
