Screening of the films created through the Accueil francophone digital storytelling project (Ateller sur l’art de la narration numerique), facilitated by the Winnipeg Film Group and instructed by renowned filmmaker Mike Maryniuk.
Accueil francophone, an initiative of the Franco-Manitoban Corporation (MFC) facilitates Francophone newcomers in Manitoba and provides assistance in the settlement process in the community.
The Winnipeg Film group, in a partnership with On Screen Manitoba and with additional funding from the Riel Community Committee, initiated a digital storytelling project to assist 8 participants in the creation of a series of short films. Each film tells a personal story about their experience.
Eight films will be screened, each is 3-5 minutes in length. All the filmmakers will be present.
Admission is FREE, all films are being presented in French.
