On November 9, the Chicago International Movies and Music Festival (CIMMfest) kicks off its four-day-long showcase of music in cinema, musical films, movies about music, and music videos.
Founded in 2008 by a musician and two filmmakers, CIMMfest celebrates the intersection of music and cinema through film screenings and live concerts in venues across Chicago’s vibrant Wicker Park and Logan Square neighbourhoods.
The festival will mark the US premiere of Hila, distributed by the WFG and directed by Adam Bentley, featuring throat singer and dancer Tiffany Ayalik in the first choreographed snowshoe dance video.
A music video for Plastic Heart by Winnipeg’s own Ghost Twin, the gloom pop duo of filmmaker-musicians Karen Asmundson and Jaimz Asmundson, will also be screening as part of this year’s CIMMfest.
Congrats to Tiffany, Adam, Karen, and Jaimz!
