Step right up Ladies and Gentlemen, Step right up! Presenting Winged Victory, an over-the-Big-Top experimental, silent-era-styled, hand-processed, scratch animation. Set in a Circus Ring, a Chicken Lady dreams of being the main stage flying trapeze act. Constantly taunted and teased by scratch-animated clowns and a whip-wielding Ringmaster, there is only one way for her to…

Courtship

By Alison Davis | 00:01:11 | Animation | 01/03/2008

"When my grandmother died I inherited her old photos - pictures that my grandfather took in the early stages of their relationship. This watercolour animation is based on those pictures and the decline they foreshadow." (Alison Davis) (This film was commissioned by the Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque for its 25th anniversary, Silverscope)

By Leslie Supnet | 00:03:25 | Animation | 30/09/2011

Watch the cuddly and lovable Dave Barbear tell you about all the great things that Cinematheque has to offer. (This film was commissioned by the Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque for its 25th anniversary, Silverscope)

Story of Thomas Edison, The

By Aaron Zeghers | 00:04:38 | Animation, Experimental | 30/09/2011

A film about the childhood heroes you so admired and now don't speak to. Optically printed onto 16mm, the Story of Thomas Edison is a mélange of recorded audio bites that form a libelous biography of the famous inventor.

By Chrystene Ells | 00:06:28 | Animation, Documentary, Experimental | 01/04/2013

Based on actual diary entries made between 1937 and 1945 by Mrs. Kathleen Clews from Amulet Saskatchewan (now a ghost town), this film explores the beautiful and lonely yearning elicited in the filmmaker by the many lost stories in the province's history.
