Steve Kirby is a busy jazz bassist, the Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Manitoba, editor of dig! magazine, and artistic director of the Izzy Asper Jazz Performances. Before coming to Winnipeg, Kirby performed and toured with jazz luminaries like Elvin Jones, Abbey Lincoln, James Carter, and Cyrus Chestnut. An award-winning composer, his latest recording project is All Over the Map featuring originals performed by his third stream Oceanic Jazz Orchestra.
