Are you interested in producing Film & Television? Do you have a passion for learning more about the ins and outs of being a producer? This Producing Television & Film course will help you learn all the ins and outs of producing and how to make that next step in the producing world!
In this workshop, participants learn the process of taking a feature film/Television series from development to delivery from a producer’s perspective.
About the Instructor:
Jean du Toit is a producer based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jean’s first role as producer was on a mocdoc for The Comedy Network on the life-threatening dangers of reading; Reading: The Silent Killer.
Since then she has produced television series, features and slightly more serious documentaries, such as the 2016 co-production with Norway on the South Sami people, entitled The Whisperers, nominated for Nordic children’s movie of the year at the 58th Nordic film festival.
In the narrative realm, Jean served as producer on the Guy Maddin feature, Keyhole (TIFF, Berlinale, SXSW) and supervising producer on The Forbidden Room (Berlinale, Sundance) and most recently on Radius (SXSW).
Previously, Jean served as production executive on Guy Maddin’s docu-fantasia My Winnipeg (TIFF), and spent over two months on the edge of Hudson Bay production managing seven camera teams, filming life in Polar Bear Town, Churchill, Canada for OLN (Canada) and Smithsonian (US).
