The Winnipeg Underground Film Festival has selected several films from the WFG’s distribution catalogue for WUFF 2017, which will be taking place from June 1-4 at Forth (171 McDermot) and Rachel Browne Theatre (211 Bannatyne).
The festival will kick off on June 1st with a program in collaboration with San Diego Underground Film Festival, which features Karen Asmundson’s Tasman Hates the Beach and Lasha Mowchun’s Hue Quilted Windowpane, in addition to films from SDUFF 2016. “SDUFF vs. WUFF” will begin at 8pm at Forth.
Two more WFG films will be screened on Saturday, June 3rd at Rachel Browne Theatre. Zachary Finkelstein’s Point of No Return, an experimental exploration of the effects of climate change, is included in the “Language + Legend” program scheduled for 3:30pm. Leslie Supnet’s experimental animation In Still Time closes the “Pics or It Didn’t Happen” program Saturday evening.

WUFF is presented by Open City Cinema, a screening series focusing on local (Winnipeg), collaborative, expanded and experimental works, presented alongside underground and forgotten rarities.
