Filmmaker and curator Richard Martin’s new documentary explores the early roots and ideas of pioneering Vancouver experimental filmmakers. Culled from the archives comes a golden era of experimental creation featuring a journey through psychedelic pop, structuralism and experimental drama. Featuring interviews and excerpts from the work of Patricia Gruben, Chris Gallagher, Al Razutis, Tom Braidwood, Alex MacKenzie and David Rimmer. Each filmmaker talks about the excitement of working with film and Rimmer reveals how he likely became a better filmmaker from not going to film school.
