Mon, Jun 21st | 6pm-9pm CT | Zoom Session
*Note: This workshop will take place on Zoom. You will receive an email with the link to participate.
Rotoscoping is the process of drawing directly over segments of video footage in order to capture lifelike animated movements. It removes the step of calculating the timing of movement and allows you to focus on the fun part of animation: bringing your unique drawing style to life.
Local animator, Drue Langlois, will be discussing different style possibilities and sources for clips to rotoscope. He will also go through the process itself- drawing a series of frames to create a finished sequence including exporting the formats required for creating uploadable animation clips, whether self-contained or to be used as one scene in a longer, edited narrative. This workshop is geared to beginners.

Drue Langlois is a visual artist based in Winnipeg, MB. His work often applies a subtle color palette to subject matter that blends horror, fantasy, and comedic elements. He currently spends most of his time producing content for his Youtube channel. His animations have also been featured on SPACE, Muchmusic, MTV.ca, A.V. Club, VRV, the Minute Hour, and Earwolf.com.
