Create a Super 8 film in less than one month.
Participants will have a unique opportunity to create their own super 8 film, hand process the footage and transfer it to digital for editing.
The first class will guide you through the aspects of operating a Super 8mm camera, with focus on getting the best exposure and taking advantage of the unique features of the Super 8mm format. The hand processing weekend will cover the basics of hand processing super 8 film as a negative. Once this is complete we will transfer the footage using an SLR camera so that each filmmaker has a digital file to edit with. This course will not go into digital editing.
As only two people can process at a time; while waiting to process the rest of the class will be watching and discussing other super 8 films. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite super 8 films to share.
