90 SECOND QUICKIE FILM CONTEST

The Winnipeg Film Group once again presents the 90 Second Quickie Filmmaking Challenge!

This is an open call to all Canadian filmmakers to make a short film, no longer than 90 seconds. There are no requirements, strings attached, or creative must-haves; the only rule is to keep it under 90 seconds. Excellence is of course recommended.

  • Films must be submitted by by July 14 at 4 PM
  • The screening will be at the Winnipeg Cinematheque, July 27 at 7 PM
  • Now get filmmaking!

ELIGIBIILTY REQUIREMENTS

  1. The works must be submitted by the directors
  2. Directors must be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada
  3. All films must be submitted in one of the specified digital formats (below)
  4. Films can be no longer than 90 seconds – titles included.
  5. Films must be physically received at the WFG offices or via a working digital download link by email to atozeghers@hotmail.com by July 14 at 4 PM. * THIS IS NOT A POSTMARK DEADLINE

ACCEPTED SUBMISSION FORMATS:

1) Data DVD containing a file of your .mov formatted film. We recommend the AppleProRes422 codec for best results.

2) A digital download link to your .mov formatted film (must be smaller than 2 GB).  We recommend a high-res H.264 codec for best results.

Submissions can be dropped of to 304 – 100 Arthur Street, or emailed to atozeghers@hotmail.com by July 14 at 4 PM. (Do not email files to this email address, only download links!)

our location

We’re located in the heart of Winnipeg's historic Exchange District in the Artspace building. We are across the street from Old Market Square at the corner of Arthur Street and Bannatyne - one block west of Main.

The Winnipeg Film Group is located on Treaty 1 Territory and on the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene Peoples and in the homeland of the Métis Nation. We offer our respect and gratitude to the traditional caretakers of this land.
